So-Cal Paw Name Origin
So-CalPaw Models takes its name from southpaw—a boxing term for left-handed fighters who move against the grain, who switch stance mid-fight, who throw rhythm off just enough to make space for something new.
It’s a word about asymmetry, instinct, and edge.
We added “paw” to soften it—make it animal, tender, low to the ground. That’s us: fierce and soft, precise and wild. We are rooted in Southern California, but our movement is global, intuitive, and fluid.
Our muse is Emanuel Augustus—the “drunken master” of the ring.
A fighter unlike any other, he made every movement unpredictable, every match a performance. He could duck, weave, dance, collapse, and strike—all while making you laugh, or cry, or wonder what came next. He wasn’t just fighting. He was feeling out loud. That’s what we look for in our models: the capacity to morph before your eyes. To tell stories in motion. To hold contradictions—grace and grit, style and soul.
So-CalPaw Models is more than a modeling agency. It’s a studio of feeling.
A company for movement you can’t quite define.
We represent beauty in flux, bodies in conversation with time, and artists who make you feel something real—before you even know what it is. We laugh. We cry We try to make you feel.
That’s our stance.
And we’re not switching anytime soon…
